Hi All,
I think this is a wonderful idea to be able to get first hand accounts from the lads /wags of what it was like to be working at that time and in that particular job.
Firstly I would like to say that I thought as a Motor Cyclist wag it was all a 16 yr old lad could ever wish for.
To be given a Motor Cycle and a bunch of telegrams and be told go and deliver was for me Utopia..
I worked at SETDC, Sparkhill and remember my 2 yrs there as probably the best of my life.Perhaps I should add at this point that when I was 7 yrs old I believed along with Peter Pan that I would never grow up.
Through your web site I look forward to chatting with old friends of nearly 50 yrs ago; which ironically is by way of a comms system that is in everyday use now , but if in the days of our wag era would have been certain death to our jobs.
I now live in Grenada , West Indies where my wife and I have retired.
Through your web site I very much look forward to making contact with those buddys of long ago and who knows , maybe even meeting them.
Best wishes,
Steve Taylor Wag No 3467!
