To all Messenger
Came across this web-site about telegram messengers. I was wondering if anyone from liverpool district office knows me .
I was based at Low Hill East District Office. It would be nice if I could meet up with some of the lads I worked with 1954/57.
please contact me if you do know me
Best regards. Ed Mullin.

Hi All
We are approaching 100 years since the first world war , and I would like to ask any one if they have any family memories who have stories or photographs from that time from relative or friends who worked for the G.P.O. (Royal Mail) if so please add them to the web site
Also the same applies to the 2nd world war
Look forward to seeing and reading the memories

My name is Lee Coldwell I was a Telegram Lad from 1967 to 1969 (my parents had the Penny Black opposite the telegram delivery room on flat street) The lads who worked there at that time- Pete Carr- Pete Watson- Bob Ward-Alan Flack- Dave Denton -John Ring to name a few, the PHGs at the time were Ken Galley and Jack Hobson ?. We rode the BSA Bantams and had a whale of a time (looking back) we used to meet up and go scrambling on ivy cottage lane, the motor cycle mechanic (paddy) went mad when he saw the bikes and report us. On the whole very enjoyable days.

Hi All Going through my various files and photos I came across the attached set taken in the grounds of Eastern Telegraph Delivery Centre Yew Tree Lane South Yardley Birmingham circ late 1960. I have labelled them with the exception of one guy, whose first name I can't remember. [shown as ... Price]. Last time I passed by the building it was still standing, doing duty as Yew Tree Lane sub post office. I think the previous Yew Tree Lane TSO can be seen in the photo of the 4 peoples and M/bikes. It's the building in the background to the right of the right hand Belisha Crossing pole, if you can follow that! And Ray Rabone really thought he looked like Elvis. Regards Dave Delderfield

Came across your website while browsing. Just to let you know that i was one of above, and worked at College Rd. Harrow, Middx during 1951, my first job when leaving school at 15yrs of age, also worked at Wembley P.O.,Tooting Bec. S.W.17, have you any members from those areas?, most interested in Harrow, as that is where i spent the most time, and made the most friends. I remember my wages were Two Pounds, Eight Shilling a week in those days, and we used to go to College 1 x Day a week in Ealing to improve our education. Look forward to your anticipated reply.
