Well said RAY, I was a mopper at Leicester Square 1959-1962 as you point out, tons of stories we could all tell & I sincerely hope we never lose it, I retired in 2004 after 40 + years.

Hi Derek> I was a mopper at Leicester Square in 1959-63 a wee bit later than you, but I couldnt agree more what a great place to be a mopper, my PSM was Mr Humphries and the governer upstairs was Mr Stellfox, On a Saturday I would help out in the merge dept in the next room. helping Paddy print the envelopes, On the same floor was the Cable & Wireless run by an ex scotch guardsman, I was skinned because I borrowed his push bike to deliver a merg to Conduit Street, skinned because we were not allowed to ride bikes as it was to dangerous. love to hear from you. maxie

hi Maurice>I was a mopper at Leicester Square, but wait for it, I was at Putney S.D.O the same time you were in the early 60s, you were in fact my driver on the late Saturday collections to Battersea starting at East Putney TSO on the Upper Richmond Road
