Well I was a tally boy at Liverpool Office in the City district ,Liverpool 1-2-3- from 1949 -1952 my badge number was 3248,I use to cycle around the City on 31 Bike (Happy memories) I’m 78 now,after doing my National service in the Royal Navy , I signed on for another 10 years coming out in the May of 1964. I tried to get back in Royal Mail (G.P.O.) but were told they were not taking anybody on at that moment , but they sent me an interview 9 years later in 1973, I was an in door sorter on the outward primary for 19 years,I was medically retired in 1992 with Arthritis of the spine , I was sorry to leave My father was a postman (2025) Walkman from 1935 – 1960 , I Lost my dad Christmas 2010 aged 77 years So if any Liverpool ex tallies from that period get in touch I enjoyed my time as a Tally back in those days best years of my life
